My client is a global Investment Bank that has a requirement for a graduate to enter into their Global Foreign Exchange Product Control team.
The business is split into 3 broad business areas: Securities, Investment Banking and Private Equity. The Securities division is divided up into FID (Fixed Income Derivatives), Equities and Institutional Securities. Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) is part of the Fixed Income Division and consists of a number of trading areas globally covering a wide range of FX related products. This role will sit within the GFX product control department and will broadly manage the flow of information from the front office systems to the ledger. This flow incorporates calculating and reporting the banks profit and loss to trading desks and management worldwide. This involves extensive dealings with front office, operations, IT and other product control areas.
The duties of the role will include:
Responsiblity for controlling the reporting of P&L and valuations of foreign exchange products traded by the bank
Liase with traders to resolve booking errors
Liase with operations and other product controllers to resolve reconciliation breaks
Perform reconciliations to ensure correct trade flow
Prepare journal entries for month-end adjustments
Commit FX rates used by the bank globally
Involvement in line related projects and testing of projects
Produce and check reasonableness of funding reports
They are looking for a grad with desirably an accountancy degree, one years financial services experience and preferably product knowledge (exposure to FX products in particular). This could have been during work experience or at University.
